Italian pianist and vocal coach Edoardo Barsotti has served as a member of the music staff at numerous theaters as the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Gran teatro all’aperto G. Puccini in Torre del lago, the Royal Opera House in Muscat, the Teatro Verdi di Pisa and the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno.

Since 2016, he serves as a collaborative pianist at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, working with some of the world’s leading conductors including Zubin Mehta, Fabio Luisi, Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Anthony Walker, Ryan McAdams, Roland Böer, Jurai Valcuha.

Among the various productions we can mention Rossini’s Semiramide, L’Italiana in Algeri, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Granados’s Goyescas, Puccin’s Tosca, Madama Butterfly, La Boheme, La rondine, Gounoud’s Faust, Bizet’s Carmen, Verdi’s Nabucco, La traviata, Don Carlo, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Bellini’s La sonnambula.

He often plays also in the orchestra, piano, celesta, harpsichord and organ as part of the symphonic season.

Previously, Edoardo worked at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa on productions of Britten’s Billy Budd, Giordano’s Andrea Chenier and Fedora, Strauss’s Salome, Puccini’s Tosca.

In the summer 2014 and 2015 he served as an apprentice coach at San Francisco’s Merola Opera Program on productions of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Menotti’s The Medium and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.

Edoardo studied at the L. Boccherini conservatory in Lucca where he graduated with honors and honorary mention under the guidance of Nadia Puccinelli. He continued his studies at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome with Stefano Fiuzzi and Benedetto Lupo.

Important is also his activity as a pianist both in opera recitals and in chamber music concerts alongside internationally renowned musicians.
